Milano Collection of Thin Terrazzo Concrete Tiles

Granada Tile's Milano Collection of thin terrazzo cement tile brings you all of charm and elegance of La Scala. Each piece of this single-layer, thin terrazzo cement tile has a body of white cement mixed with color pigment and encrusted with tiny, small, medium or large pieces of marble. This mix is formed in molds, pressed hydraulically, cured and polished to create a brilliant, durable cement tile. We offer Milano terrazzo tiles in your choice of polished and anti-slip surfaces. The polished finish is perfect for kitchen tile, commercial tiles, restaurant tiles and other floor tiles in dry settings. The anti-slip surface is ideal for bathroom tile, spa tiles, patio tiles and any other floor tile is slippery, wet settings. Milano cement tiles measure 13" x 13" x 5/8". They look so great, they'll have you singing arias before you know it.

Terrazzo was originally invented in the 15th century by Venetian construction workers using marble chips left over from upscale jobs. The workers would usually set them in clay to surface the patios around their living quarters. Consisting originally of marble chips, clay, and goat milk (as the sealer), terrazzo tile production became much easier after the 1920s and the introduction of electric industrial grinders and other power equipment.

Although they are of Italian origin, thin terrazzo concrete tiles are often confused with French tiles. Because of their natural simplicity and elegance, Milano floor tiles blend well with a number of different styles and aesthetics, including Contemporary, Traditional, Asian, Classical, Country, Tropical, Rustic, Tuscan, and Scandinavian. Below are individual tile photos of each of the different Milano tiles. Note the fusing of different colors and sizes of marble with various background colors of concrete in these tile pictures.
