We’ve come a long way since our founder and president, Marcos Cajina first set foot on the cement tile floor of the Granada Cultural Center in Granada, Nicaragua. The experience spurred him to revive the fading art of making cement tiles. In the years that followed, the company, dubbed Granada Tile, in honor of Marcos’s initial inspiration has grown from from a single tile press in the basement of his Echo Park home into a full-scale production facility in Nicaragua making a multi-line collection of concrete tiles. Through it all, our company vision has remained the same—we’re dedicated to making beautiful, sustainably produced cement tiles for homes and businesses.

Our designs reflect a global influence. We draw ideas from Spain, France, Morocco, Nicaragua to name just a few. We also create motifs from our own imaginings. That’s why our cement tiles work so beautifully in any environment—from traditional to modern, our clients’ choices are many. Add to that our options for customization, and the architects, designers and homeowners who use our tiles can craft nearly unlimited environments with tile. From the outset we’ve been committed to treading gently on the earth, beginning with the medium we’ve chosen to manufacture our tiles—cement. The material means that you’re investing in a durable, long-lasting product far less prone to chipping and cracking over time. The production process, too, makes a smaller environmental impact than other methods. Rather than being fired in a kiln, our concrete tiles are air-dried, requiring less energy and eliminating the release of any toxins into the air. And throughout the production process, we’re constantly recycling and reusing the raw materials. Our goal is to make the smallest possible environmental footprint while still offering our customers the highest quality cement tiles possible.
